Abstract Painting

This class is intended for anyone who wants to explore non- representational painting, to strengthen and develop their own voice as a painter, and take some risks with their painting. We will experiment with color, proportion, shapes and texture. This course is also suitable for those who want to have more confidence in their own way of painting. No prior experience necessary, appropriate to beginners to advanced painters.

Monotype Printmaking
Thursday · 9:30 am – 12:30 pm · $420

Participants will learn all the basic techniques for creating monotypes: multiple plates, chine colle’, stencils and viscosity. It will focus on practicing, experimenting and letting the process lead you to new innovations. Discover endless possibilities as you print more. Emphasis is given to helping each student develop a personal knowledge of the process.

This course will introduce various printmaking techniques and participants with experiment with limitless possibilities of monotypes. We will learn about transfers, layering, stencils and other approaches to printmaking. No prior experience necessary.

Painting: Abstract

Learn how to gain understanding of the language of abstraction through paint. Learn about juxtaposition of colors and shapes. Discover a new non-representational way of viewing the world. Experiment with scale, proportion, materials and texture. Practice design and composition. Participate in specially designed drawing exercises to develop your own visual language.
